ODG012 : Roedelius and Morgan Fisher / Neverless

ODG012 : Roedelius and Morgan Fisher / Neverless

Hans-Joachim Roedelius has long been regarded as a subtle and contemplative pioneer of ambient music. It was inevitable that one day his path would cross with Morgan Fisher, who by the 21st century had reached a similar tranquil plateau of creativity, having moved far from his roots in 60's soul and rock music. The album was recorded "via emails"
sending audio files back and forth between Roedelius' home near Vienna, and Morgan's longtime personal studio in Tokyo and was released originally in 2005. It's been sold out for more than 7 years now and it's my pleasure to re release it now on the Digital only series.
Out on the 1th of July 2013.

ODG011 : SUTT / Hymne Til Hjemmet

SUTT is a duo formed in Berlin in June 2012 by Sofie Trolde ( vox, sampler ) and Utku Tavil (drums, electronics).

Influenced by numerous genres, but especially sample based and error music, the duo tries to explore the far out limits of two of the oldest ( if not the oldest two ) instruments, the voice and the percussions, with the use of the live or pre-recorded samples and their manipulation.
You can explore already their music here:  http://www.utkutavil.com/music/sutt/

ODG010 : The Zoo Wheel / Ear Falls

ODG010 : The Zoo Wheel / Ear Falls

This is the new Ep/mini album from Liz Payne and her solo project called The Zoo Wheel.
Charles Rumback (see also OCD005OCD009ODG009) is drumming on it. They first met playing music together as the rhythm section in Via Tania. Tania Bowers ( http://www.viatania.com/ ) is adding extra vocals while Josh Berman is playing cornet on it ( http://joshberman.net/ ).
All songs were written, performed and recorded at home and outside by Liz Payne in 2010.
The drums were recorded by Brian Bullard  who also did the mix and the mastering at Spank Music, in Chicago.

What Liz says about the project:
"Ear Falls is a collection of songs long in the making, and long in the aging. It was completed in 2010 after a period in which it suffered a few lengthy interruptions. As a result of this, many songs for the collection were created and subsequently scrapped, and for the songs that survived, many versions were created. For this collection I was trying to make songs which held a place for me; a figurative place in memory, and a literal marker of place by the use of my field recordings. Over the years many places and events came and disappeared; these songs stand for the places that stayed with me."

                                                           Charles and Liz

Liz Payne is a bass and guitar player and is most renowned for her tallented playing with those bands:
Everyoned, Joan Of Arc, Lake Wandawega Resort Band, Pillow, Town And Country

ODG009 :  Meyer - Trim - Rumback / Look At Me, So I Can Get Close to You

Charles Rumback is best known to you and Off with the releases of the two fantastic albums from Colorlist ( see also OCD005OCD009 and ODG010).
In the beginning of 2013, beeing already busy playing with various bands, Andrew Trim started a new trio.
This is what Charles says about it: " It is a trio consisting of Danny Meyer (tenor saxophone), Andrew Trim (guitar) and myself on drums...
The project happened because Danny and Andrew are old friends from Colorado. Andrew is living in Chicago now, and Danny in New York. But when Danny came through, they scheduled a recording session and asked me to play on it. I didn't quite know what to expect, but the music came out beautifully I think. So we've made a record out of it, and did 5 shows together... 3 in Chicago and 2 in Milwaukee. The music just happened naturally with no rehearsing. It just felt like we had played together for years. We're planning on keeping the group going and hopefully recording again later this year."
And this what Andrew says:
"Broadly, the record is the culmination of two individual musical relationships that I developed over the years - the first with Danny in Colorado and later with Charles in Chicago.
More directly, the record is our collective exploration of the immediacy of musical communication without rehearsal. Our goal in recording together was to cultivate our deep appreciation for strong melody, subtle textures, taking chances, all the while continuing our search for truth in the creative process.
All of the music by our slightly unconventional trio was recorded live with no overdubs by our friend and engineer Brian Sulpizio in one short session. The session began with our interpretations of six compositions by Danny and myself and concluded with the trio freely improvising pieces of various lengths.
To our surprise, our NYC based collaborator, Minor Ninths, asked if he could remix the title track upon hearing the record for the first time. The result was so cool that we asked to include it as a bonus track on the release. Glad we said yes.
We hope you enjoy the record!"

Spotify / Deezer

Dear all, it's a pleasure to see that everyday there are more and more people either downloading, either going to listen to the Off music on Spotify or Deezer.
I just want to remind all of you that, though really excited to see people all over the world listening to various titles, the streamings on Spotify / Deezer give 0,002€ per listening. It means that Off gets 1€ every 500 streamings for one song. After paying the Author rights and the providers fees, Off gets around 0,60€. Which means around 0,30€ for the Artist...
The digital series ( and the rest of the catalogue) beeing at a bargain price, I suggest that if you really enjoy the music, you download once and for all the album or the track you like.
Nevertheless, for those who still want to just listen in streaming, feel of course free to do so!
I prefer to know that each day Off gives the pleasure of listening to great music to a big amount of people all over the world!
So whatever, you choose, enjoy the music!

ODG007 : Jessica Constable and Philippe Gelda / Live in Toulouse

Jessica Constable and Philippe Gelda have been improvising, composing song suites and performing live together since 1991
They have created site specific and other works for voice and various keyboard instruments including prepared upright piano, toy piano and organ.

In 2008 they released The Vine and Vein Collection: Cool Things for Organ and Voice (Dark Holler 2008). a set of songs ranging from microscopically and metaphysically amplified pieces, shifting with noticeable poise to more ferocious and unforgiving moments howling electronic noise and barked vocals, and then to elegant, star-blasted songs of a dreamlike detachment and a cosmic sense of vastness.” (Cyclic Defrost Magazine)

“Live in Toulouse” was recorded at a rare concert at the Mandala Club in Toulouse, France in 2006.

This is one of the most astonishing voice ever.

A nice bio in French here under:
