OVD057 : Marc Van Eyck - Pierre Vervloesem / Tamtams

Cover art by A.L.

OVD057 : Marc Van Eyck - Pierre Vervloesem / Tamtams

Marc used to play drums on the first recordings of Pierre back in 1987...so after 35 years he came back naturally to Pierre with a series of drums patterns he recorded over the years for different projects and bands : Asoha, Someday and In The Ginza (with Pierre), Largo, Studio Pagol...

Pierre added guitars, basses, keys, effects, mixing and producing.

The result is quite exotic running from India, to dub, to hell from jazz and Vervloesemesque typical music! Olé hop!

OUC039 : Céline Lory - Gil Mortio / Erik Satie Vexations - Piano - Electronic

OUC039 : Céline Lory - Gil Mortio / Erik Satie Vexations - Piano - Electronic

What Céline says about her proposal:

"Vexations - the musical piece and its succulent title - have been with me for many years. Short, simple and original piece - I incorporated it in several of my shows, I also participated in its collective performance “marathon” in Bozar a few years ago. So I liked the idea that the musical piece would be on my path again in 2021 since its evocative title reflects our current experience. Calling on producer Gil Mortio was a way of breaking away from the routine of solo rehearsal and radically turning to a reinterpretation. Starting from a "classic" version revolving around the piano and its playing modes, he turned, kneaded and rearranged the piece. By playing, among other things, with the indomitable length prescribed by the composer, he creates a play of colors and shapes with acid tones aligned in spectral layers."

LEMOND is the nickname of Thierry Mondelaers, Belgian song writer “known” in his country as the singer of X-legged-Sally the Flamish pataphysician metal funk jazz band with whom he recorded two albums in the late nineties. After XLS ‘s split he went on with « A GROUP » with Peter Vermeersh and Pierre Vervloesem (deUs first album producers), made two albums — the first having been produced by Spencer Chrislu (Frank Zappa’s sound engineerer).

In 2000 he started with a solo project and recorded 17 songs of his own under the name of LEMOND and performed around Belgium with his own band (Anne Fontigny, Didier Fontaine, Pascale Vervloet).

Raised at the breast of English pop music, French variété, TV soaps, film music, he studied music by himself, studied painting & philosophy in Brussels

His teachers were Andy Partridge, Georges Brassens, James Ensor, and Ludwig Wittgenstein. The result is an eclectic bunch of songs wherein melody and soundscapes are the main actors.
