OUC043 : Kasra Faridi / Counterpoint

About Counterpoint Kasra says:

"The piano is the foundation for all the pieces on the EP, I have used techniques such as 8 row notes and cell melodies in composition. The EP consists of 10 tracks, each a series of small pieces featuring two simple melody cells that develop throughout the tracks. However, there is one longer track that connects the melody cells.

I created all the electronic sounds using Csound programming, which allowed me to modify the piano sound into completely new and exciting compositions. Sometimes, the piano sound was just delayed, sometimes I transformed it into non-musical sounds that accompanied the piano. To create a varied and interesting sound, Between major changes and no change in the piano sound, you can listen to pitch changing as counterpoint objects and piano sounds without their attack which created harmony spaces. All the lines in the compositions work cohesively as a texture."

The album was Recorded, mixed and mastered in Tehran 2023.
