OCD004 : Toshinori Kondo / Silent Melodies

Toshinori Kondo, a highly acclaimed Japanese electric trumpeter, has been playing and recording all over the world with musicians as diverse as Bill Laswell[bass], John Zorn[saxophone], Derek Bailey[guitar], Herbie Hancock[keyboard], Peter Brotzmann[saxophone], DJ-KRUSH, Hotei Taizo[guitar] and Eishiba (the greatest Japanese samisen player), to name but a few.

In 1984, he formed a band called IMA (International Music Activities) in Japan and went on a world tour. The band's sound, fusing all sorts of musical elements such as Rock 'n Roll, jazz and DJing, gained great attention and was used for several commercial spots in Japan. He disbanded IMA in 1993 and moved to Amsterdam.

He has been pursuing and sharpening his own musical style since then and started a project called "Blow the Earth", playing electric trumpet in outdoor natural environments.
In 2001 Kondo was requested by the 14th Dalai Lama to produce one part of the international peace festival called "The World Festival of Sacred Music " held in Hiroshima, Japan. In 2003 he was awarded Kikaku-sho (Best Project) at the 45th Japan Record Award and in 2005 he started the “PIKADON Project” for the 60th anniversary of the dropping of the atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
Since 2006 he is based in Amsterdam and Tokyo. Always enthusiastic about collaborating with many different artists, regardless of artistic genres, he is continuously searching for new sounds.

For the first time, ‘Silent Melodies’ is a collection of songs using only his electric trumpet and nothing else. There are no overdubs and no other instruments but his breathing power, some effects and his fantastic playing technique

OCD003 : Don Shtone / Beware of the cat

OCD003 : Don Shtone / Beware of the cat

Pioneering as resident DJ in Germanys first After Hour Club "6 am Eternal Afterhour" in  Hamburg in 1992, Sven Dohse set off to be one of the most popular and renowned techno  artists of Northern Germany today. Performing on numerous techno-events, Svens drifting acid- and intense techno sound has  proved highly popular, particularly in the techno bass scene.

Experimenting with diverse rhythms of Electronica, led to his first recording of the Emojonal  project together with Gary D for Hamburgs Container Records. In 1995 Sven embarked on  his first solo project GREENMAN and released the first 12" on Superstition, followed by a  number of successful singles of which "Discordia" attained extraordinary attention through  a dazzling remix by the well known project "Der Dritte Raum". Svens GREENMAN debut longplayer "Greenmania" was released in 2000 and highly  recognised. Whilst working on his techno career Sven realized further break and freestyle projects like  "Conzooma" together with drum and bass DJ Waldmeista, "Don Shtone" as well as "Don  and Dirty" with Dirk Wagner. His current style can be described as a melange of rocking  tech-house mixed with hard edged break beats.

The second face of Sven Dohse is his Don Shtone project:  for years he produces under this project name a more  relaxed and electronic sound, even for the dancefloor,  sometimes strange in a positive way, full with his musical  humour and you can hear his experience as a dj and  maniac music freak, melting with his musicality and his  love for experiments.

OCD001 : Blaine L. Reininger / Glossolalia

OCD001: Blaine L. Reininger / Glossolalia

Glossolalia is the first solo album of Blaine since 1999, and probably his best ever so far !
Close your eyes and travel through old black and white Italian and Greek movies from the 60ties,
or cross the ocean and feel again the colours and the heat from Mexico !
Glossololia is a mixture of all the places and people that Blaine encountered in the last 10 years. It is full of poetry and faith in the world !
As a musical journey it is magic for the ears !

Blaine L. Reininger is an American composer and performer born in 1953 in Pueblo, Colorado. In 1977 he started the legendary American cult band Tuxedomoon together with Steven Brown in San Francisco.
Over the course of the next 26 years, many artistic collaborations took place and many cd’s were recorded. These collaborations, while mostly musical in nature, often moved into other fields such as dance, theatre, and film.
Since  1998, he lives in Athens Greece.
